Background
Astrid van Lier is a certified medical physicist who is specialized in MRI for radiotherapy. She has a background in Biomedical Engineering (MSc, Twente University) and MRI physics (PhD, University Medical Center).
Her current research and clinical innovation activities focus on pelvic and thoracic MRI to support improved radiotherapy in those anatomical regions. To enable a safe transition from MRI research to clinical innovation, she initiated an inter-disciplinary working group which will work on this topic.
